How to send virtual tour leads to Follow Up Boss

Agent on a headset call, following up with a virtual tour lead from Follow Up Boss

To send virtual tour leads to Follow Up Boss, connect your tour software to Follow Up Boss with an API key, then turn on auto-sync so every new tour visitor is pushed into your CRM as a lead. With Path, you paste your Follow Up Boss API key once in the dashboard, and each visitor arrives with a lead source and an engagement score your agents can sort by. This guide covers the setup, what comes across, how agents act on it inside Follow Up Boss, and what to do if your brokerage uses a different CRM.

Why tour leads belong in Follow Up Boss

Most brokerages that run on Follow Up Boss already route every lead source through it. The Follow Up Boss home page (checked November 2026) says it integrates with over 250 lead sources and website providers, and it pitches itself to team leads, ISAs, agents on teams and solo agents.

A virtual tour is a lead source too. A buyer walks through the rooms, asks about fees, parking and schools, and leaves a name and phone number. If that lead stays in a separate tour dashboard, it misses the routing, action plans and reporting your team built in Follow Up Boss.

Putting tour leads in the same pipeline as portal and website leads also keeps your reports honest. A tour that produced ten named buyers looks like it did nothing if those buyers never reach the CRM.

What a tour lead needs before it can sync

Follow Up Boss can only work a lead that has contact details. Anonymous tour views cannot be pushed to anyone.

In Path, every visitor enters a name, a valid email and a valid phone number and ticks a consent box before the tour opens. The consent line tells them their information will be shared with the listing agent. So every visitor who shows up in Follow Up Boss is a real person your agent can call. Our guide to virtual tour lead capture covers how that gate works and what to ask for.

How to connect Follow Up Boss to Path

  1. Get your API key: In Follow Up Boss, copy the API key for your account. Follow Up Boss uses API keys to identify the account and the user making the request.

  2. Open Integrations: In the Path dashboard, go to Settings and open Integrations.

  3. Paste the key: Choose Follow Up Boss and paste your API key. There is no OAuth sign-in step for Follow Up Boss, the key is the connection.

  4. Sync your first visitors: Open Visitor Profiles. Each visitor shows a CRM sync status, and you can sync one visitor at a time or use sync all.

  5. Turn on auto-sync: Switch on auto-sync so new visitors are pushed to Follow Up Boss without anyone clicking a button.

Keep the key private, the same way you would with any other lead provider connected to your account.

What comes across to Follow Up Boss

Path pushes leads through the Follow Up Boss Events API. Follow Up Boss describes that endpoint as the way to send in a lead or an event related to a lead, and its events documentation (checked November 2026) says each event carries a source, which is the name of the lead source.

  • Contact details: the name, email and phone the visitor entered before the tour.

  • Source attribution: the lead is tagged with its source, so your agents can see at a glance that it came from a tour and your reports can group tour leads together.

  • Engagement score: Path writes its engagement score to Follow Up Boss custom fields. Follow Up Boss lets lead providers set custom fields on incoming leads, and Path uses that to put the score on the lead record.

The full conversation history, the 0-100 Conversion Score and the Hot Leads signals (budget, timeline, preferences, financing) stay in Path's Visitor Profiles. The score adds up engagement, recency and the buyer profile the visitor shared during the guided tour. Our article on buyer intent scoring explains how teams read it.

How agents act on tour leads inside Follow Up Boss

Once tour leads are flowing in, set up Follow Up Boss so they get worked the same way as any other hot source. A few habits do most of the work.

  • Route them: Use your existing lead distribution rules so each tour lead gets an owner right away. A lead with no owner is a lead nobody calls.

  • Sort by score: Because the Path engagement score sits in a custom field, agents can sort or filter their lead list by it and start the day with the buyers who spent the most time in the tour.

  • Check the action plan rules: The Follow Up Boss events documentation says new leads created through the API only trigger action plans when the event is one of a few types, such as Registration, Property Inquiry or General Inquiry. If your tour leads are not starting the action plan you expect, check the event type in Follow Up Boss first.

  • Read the tour context before the call: Open the visitor in Path to see what they asked and which rooms they lingered in, then log the call in Follow Up Boss.

Speed up the first follow-up

Syncing gets the lead into the CRM. Someone still has to make the call. Path sends a new visitor alert email after a visitor's first interaction, with their details and a summary of the conversation, so the agent on duty knows right away.

Inside Visitor Profiles, the Hot Leads section adds AI-drafted personalized emails and call scripts based on what each buyer asked. An agent can read the script, make the call, and log it in Follow Up Boss. Owners can also get a weekly digest of top visitors and key insights by email, SMS or both. If your brokerage is not on Follow Up Boss

Path also connects to HubSpot. HubSpot connects by OAuth instead of an API key, and each synced contact carries a summary of the tour conversation and the properties viewed. Our guide to sending tour leads to HubSpot walks through it.

Those are the two CRM integrations Path has today. For any other CRM, Visitor Profiles has a CSV export, so you can download your visitors and import them. It is a manual step, so give it a fixed time, such as first thing each morning. Brokerage teams can see how the whole setup fits together on our brokerages page.
