How to let buyers book a viewing from inside the virtual tour

To let buyers book a viewing from inside a virtual tour, add a booking button to the tour that opens your scheduling link or sends your team a meeting request. The buyer books while they are still looking at the home, and your team gets the request with the context of what they asked. This guide covers how booking works in Path, where to put the booking step and how to follow up once a request comes in.

Why booking belongs inside the tour

A virtual tour is where a buyer decides whether a home is worth a visit. They walk the rooms, ask about the layout and check the neighborhood. That is the moment they are most ready to say yes to a viewing.

If the only way to book is to leave the tour, find a contact page and fill in a form, many buyers will put it off. Some never come back. Putting the booking step inside the tour removes those extra steps and keeps the buyer moving.

It also helps your team. A request that comes from the tour carries the buyer's details and the conversation they just had, so the person who confirms the viewing already knows what the buyer cares about.

How booking a viewing works in Path

Every Path tour has a side menu with Chat, Design, Book and Exit. When a buyer chooses to book a viewing, one of two things happens, depending on how you set up the property.

  • Your scheduling link: if you added an external scheduling link, Book a viewing opens it. That can be Calendly, Acuity or any other booking URL you already use.

  • A meeting request: without a scheduling link, the tour sends you a meeting request. You get an email with a subject that starts "Meeting requested", and the buyer gets a confirmation.

Either way, the buyer has already entered a name, a valid email and a valid phone number before the tour opened, so you know who is asking. Our guide to virtual tour lead capture explains that step.

How to set it up

  1. Decide how you want to book: if your team already uses a booking tool, use its link. If someone confirms each viewing by hand, leave the link out and use meeting requests.

  2. Add the link to the property: in the property's General Info step, paste your scheduling link into the optional scheduling link field.

  3. Test it yourself: open the tour's public link on your phone, go through the lead form and press Book a viewing. Check that the right calendar opens or that the meeting request email reaches the right inbox.

  4. Tell the concierge about viewings: use Custom Instructions to note viewing hours or anything buyers should know before they book.

Where to put the booking step

The Book option is always in the tour menu, so a buyer can book at any point. What you can shape is when the idea comes up.

The guided tour is a good moment. When buyers take a guided tour, the concierge walks them room by room and asks discovery questions about their intent, household, timeline and priorities. A buyer who has just shared a short timeline is a natural fit for a viewing, and your team can see those answers later in Visitor Profiles.

Outside the tour, mention booking wherever you share the tour link. If you send the tour by email or text, or embed it on your website, a short line such as "Book a viewing from inside the tour" tells buyers the option is there. Teams selling resale listings can see more on our brokerages page, and builders can see how this fits model homes on our homebuilders page.

Make the booking easy to say yes to

A few small choices make a big difference to how many buyers finish booking.

  • Keep the form short: the buyer has already given their name, email and phone at the start of the tour, so your booking page does not need to ask for much more.

  • Offer real times: if you use a scheduling tool, keep your calendar open for the hours buyers actually want, including evenings or weekends if you can.

  • Match the property: if one team covers several properties, use a separate link or calendar per property so viewings do not get mixed up.

  • Confirm quickly: with meeting requests, someone has to reply. Agree who owns the inbox and how fast they confirm.

How to follow up after a booking request

A booking request is the clearest sign a buyer is serious. Treat it as your top priority for the day.

Before you confirm, open the visitor in Path's Visitor Profiles and read their conversation history. You will see what they asked during the tour and what they shared about their plans, so you can prepare for the viewing. Each visitor also has a 0-100 Conversion Score that adds up engagement, recency and the buyer profile they shared.

When the chat ends, Path emails the buyer a summary of the key points from their tour, so they arrive with a record of what they saw. For what to do with visitors who do not book, our guide on how to follow up with virtual tour visitors lays out a daily routine.

Property Insights also counts meeting requests generated for each property, so you can see over time which tours lead to viewings.

Frequently asked questions

Can buyers book a viewing without leaving the virtual tour?

Yes. Book a viewing is in the tour's side menu. It opens your scheduling link or sends you a meeting request, so the buyer books from the tour.

Does Path work with Calendly or Acuity?

Yes, as a link. Add your Calendly, Acuity or any other booking URL as the property's scheduling link, and Book a viewing opens it.

What happens if I do not add a scheduling link?

The tour sends you a meeting request by email, and the buyer gets a confirmation. Someone on your team then replies to set the time.

Will I know who booked?

Yes. Buyers enter their name, email and phone before the tour opens, and their conversation history is saved in Visitor Profiles.

Can I see how many viewings a tour produces?

Property Insights shows the number of meeting requests generated for each property.
